Lifelens detects malaria
Lifelens is a promising new smartphone application that lets a user snap a photo of a blood sample to determine if it’s affected with malaria. The application runs on Windows Phone 7 software, uses its high resolution imaging sensor and requires a micro ball lens attachment.

Too bad for thelifelensproject but very good for Africa in general, is that the amount of present mosquitoes carrying malaria have dropped to practically zero in all malaria sensible areas in 2011. The amount has been dropping since 2008. Scientists don't really know the cause, but for know, malaria is on the verge of extinction...
